Boiler is fitted in the garage, a few weeks ago in the cold weather it froze up and the EXV split apart. Boiler stilled worked OK but strangely enough it wasn't till today that the water flooded out.
I intend to fit an external vessel to the Return just below the Boiler.
My question is - The connection to the old EXV needs to be plugged off. What fittings do I need to do this ? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks Ian

Going to need some photos or at least the boiler model. Each one is different.

Dont get this one..... why not fit a new xp vess and supply pipe if pipe is damaged ??

Hi It is the EXV that has split apart, I want to fit a new EXV on the Return. ( much easier ). I need to plug off the EXV supply pipe to it. (412 in Pic pipe is OK )
Hope you can advise
Ian

Yeah i see, i suppose its easier than taking it of the wall.I guess you would need at a guess as i dont know the exact size or thread a 1/4 brass female screwed cap and a suitable washer to seal it. Attaching the new x.p on the return where the fill loop usually fits is no problem. As i say though i am not sure on exact size unless i went in the van but i am leaving that daunting prospect till Monday.......

have cut the pipe going to the expansion vessel before and just put a 10 mm compression cap, then fitted external expansion vessel. hope this helps ( it could have been a 8mm cap not 100 percent certain)
