Hi

I have this syphon in my toilet it was fitted in 1999. Does anyone know if the above has a internal overflow?

On the websites it says it has a internal overflow but these models have a blue top?

Where is the internal overflow on the syphon?

All syphons can overflow internally. To do this the top of them needs to be lower than the overflow pipe, if there is one. The water simply goes over the top of the syphon and runs in to the pan. To have an internal overflow a shorter syphon is normally fitted.

Ok many thanks for this.

I had a slight flood in the week, as water came out the overflow pipe which wasn't running anywhere outside.

Assume the overflow pipe is lower the then internal overflow syphon level.

Inside the cistern it has a vertical overpipe pipe, but outside the cistern just emptys onto the floor!

I don't want the hassle of drilling through the wall etc so wanted to stick with the internal overflow.

I take it to get a overflow pipe cap off are easy to buy.

Plug here http://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-blanking-off-plug-white/65267. If you fit that you'll have make sure the syphon is below the spill level of the cistern. Replace the syphon with a Fluidmaster flaqpper valve.
This will convert your cistern to push-button dual-flush.
It has an integral/internal overflow, discharging into the toilet bowl.
