Hi,

I need to buy a new oil condensing boiler and am a bit unsure which brand/model to go for so looking for some recommendations please.

Not sure if there is any difference on efficiency these days or if they are all the same. Not got an unlimited budget either but would ideally like something less than 2 grand if possible. The house has 4 good size bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 living room and 1 kitchen.

Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance

I've installed a few warmflows and don't have any problems with them
Oil boilers are much of a muchness. The only thing the manufactures
really do is weld up a steel box. The burners all come from a small
number of suppliers. So you'll find the same burner in a warmflow, worcester, grant etc.

Go for an external boiler less noise in the house.

Have your boiler work with an unvented or vented cylinder.
Oil combi boilers although good kill the burner all that firing every time
someone opens a tap.

Would always go grant.

Don't get that bit?

How many times do you turn the hot tap a day. That is how many times the burner has to fire to supply hot water.
With a hot water cylinder the number of firings drops dramatically therefore reliability increases.

I see, understand now.

Are you looking at spending 2k on the boiler all the boiler and install??

Thanks for all the information so far. Am happy to spend up to 2k on the boiler itself but if there is a good option available for less I am all ears :D

I am quite interested in getting an unvented cyclinder and getting a back boiler for our fire to help aid the system a little as well. eventualy I would like to get a rayburn to help with the system but it could be some time before I can afford that.

We have enough space for an external boiler so I would quite like to go down that route as well.
