Salus RT500RF Digital Electronic Thermostat with RF Wireless

Shuffles off to snigger to himself in the corner.

BG....Hundreds....hundreds or wireless thermostats I've installed. Never had cross communication.

But then I WON't sell shlt like Salus.

No, that's a lie. Have one fitted. Customer hates it. But it was free with the boiler and they don't want to spend a few quid on the one we recommend.

thanks alot for all your help, ill try changing the code my self if its that easy but ill be sure to get this changed soon as he can to a better one

Good luck dude.

I should add my opinion isn't the only valid one on here- but I do try and post from first hand experience rather than being a Googleer - not aimed at you GB!! ;).

Just remembered there is a thread on here recently where Worcester Bosch are refusing warranty work if a Salus is fitted for exactly the same symptoms.

I would pish myself if you had the same installer.

Not quite sure why dan_robinson is blaming the installer

I have found wireless stats not to work in blocks of flats with steel rebar.
I have found some wireless stats to interfere with some wireless home alarms.

Probably change the RF code and it will be sorted, easy.

Good luck dude.

!!!! Didnt need to google this !!!!! Hey Ive had it happen with a salus two years down the line this tenant couldn't turn her heating off, even when I took the batteries out of the programmer the receiver was getting a signal

Then I remembered on a job I was on the householder always came to the door when I was going in and out to the van............turns out my van remote operated her wireless doorbell !!!!

altered pontets sorted.!!!!

After looking through the internet i have found my make and model thermostat and reciever

Salus RT500RF Digital Electronic Thermostat with RF Wireless

These definitely do have problems with interference from other wireless devices! The manufacturer will confirm this. I've fitted a couple in the past and had to take the pins out to give it a more unique channel.

I don't them anymore!

Is there someone in the area with a old brit motorcycle running without a suppressor on the plug lead - always knew when my M8 was coming round - the TV used to go fuzzy - but then that was monocrome 425 lines

I had a similar issue when we had our system installed last year. And you definitely can get interference from other wireless devices on any wireless device. It's rare, but not uncommon. At our last house whenever our phone rang, the next door neighbour's doorbell went off.

Had a Honeywell digital wireless theremostat installed and it would just stop communicating to the boiler. It would be freezing and wouldn't come on. Sometimes you'd have to reset the hub for it for it to work, and randomly it would work for hours and then just stop communicating and other times it would suddenly start talking again after a few hours.

He replaced it (both thermostat and receiver) with another one. Same thing.
And another same thing.

We then went for an analogue wireless Honeywell, with a different receiver...worked fine. No issues.

He installed the one we'd been having problems with in his next job...no issues. Worked fine. So there was a conflict somewhere.

My mother-in-laws mobile phone interfers with my internet. Whenever she brings it round my internet stops working. Shows that it's getting a connection to the outside world on the router but no wireless devices can talk to it. Take her phone far enough away from the house and all is well.

Just to finish this off, The plumber came round today and changed the code on the back of the thermostat and reciver, it now works great! also i found out were people have it cant happen it does, my next door neighbour has the same thermostat and reciver and they were both on the same signal, my thermpostat was working her boiler and vice verser.
