Well not exactly but closeish, during the summer all upstairs bedrooms were decorated and carpet replaced and thought whilst the rooms are empty will stop the squeky floor boards by screwing down, what i noticed was the amount of draft that was coming in around the joists where they go into the cavity walls(which are insulated) due to the muck around them being thrown in,got some loft insulation and put in the gaps and now the cold weather is here we are really surprised what a difference it makes to the overall heat not just upstairs but down as well with the boiler cycling a lot less, not worth tearing the floor up for on its own but if you have it up for something else maybe worth while. :D

While putting ply down to prep for wooden floors I noticed how much draft there was coming up between the floor boards.

Not done any measurements per se but the number of complaints re drafts has reduced...:)
