I have a permanent warning light that suggests the pre-tensioners (for airbag/seat belts) have a problem. Anybody had this problem please and can it be solved by DIY person.

firstly do not mess around with the airbag system with test lights or testers on any of the electrics you will get a big surprise.
Leave the ignition off for at least 2 mins.Look under the seats for a yellow plug.if the plug has not come apart, unplugg them and reconnect them.if this does not cure the fault get it code read to point you in the right direction. There is a softwre issue on some of these and you may find a dealer will do an upgrade.

hi jim does the lamp stay on all the time or does it flash a code.i.e 4 quick flashes and 2 slow flashes would be 42.

The light stays on all the time. Does that give a clue.
Thanks

im assuming its a focus.anyway if the light is on constantly it could be a fuse these are behind the glove box but it sounds more like the control module.this is under the center consol and would prob be best fitted by ford garage as they have to be programmed on computor

Thanks for advice. Will take it to the Ford people.
