either they are setting it as Away (should be Home) or they are triggering a Burglar sensor (the indoor sensors should be Home)

Presumably they already have the entry doors correctly set as Entry, which triggers the countdown.

Don't know the panel but it maybe that the PIR needs to be set as entry/exit for part/home set...

I did think that but wasn't sure. I don't have much dealing with Yale. I will have a quick read of the manual for them.and will post an update.
Thanks guys

No, for Home set, on the Yale panels, the householder can walk around the inside of the house without setting off the alarm, as long as the indoors detectors are set as "Home"

Only an "entry" sensor will start the count-down.

If the householder wants to have some of his internal sensors not set to "home," he needs to turn off the alarm before walking in front of them.

Of course home and away setting. You know what sometimes I wonder what world I'm on... It will be that the PIR will be set to away. I don't believe that can be changed on the hsa 6400... I will have to read the manual.

I have never tried to set a Yale PIR as an entry device, but I don't think it works.

You can certainly set them as Home or Away. It's in the Devices menu.

p.s.
It is very useful to have an additional remote keypad out of sight near the front door, for example, inside the door of the understairs cupboard. Then you can have the control panel out of sight, maybe in a bedroom, where an intruder can't easily intefere with it during the countdown. 20secs is better.

Yea I did tell them I will set it up properly for them and I might jump into screw fix and pick up a spare keypad for them.

I will certainly look into the device panel in the device settings.

Thanks John I will let them know that. I just saw an advert on there website when I was ordering trunking.

I do have a second hand one in the van but its been there for about 2 yrs not sure it actually works anymore.

It's always worth a try and it's from the hsa 6200 series but that. Doesn't matter much with Yale. And for the sake of just unscrewing the back plate and flicking in a coin battery which I also have in the van. You can't really go wrong.

You was right John the 3 pir were set to burglar. They are now set to home.
And that pad does work that's £10 in my pocket nice one John.
Need to get you a beer.
