Makita 12v batteries - originals?

I've got a couple of now dead Makita 12v batteries, but with 2 drills and an impact driver I think it still makes sense to buy some fresh batteries and keep using them.

a quick search of ebay and shops brings up lots of copy batteries, which I'm wary of - has anyone had any luck with any of these/any particular sellers, or should I just spend on the proper ones?

I have had more than half a dozen batteries off this company,and they have out lived the origanals. global batteries

When I hit the same problem a few years back i got some 12 volt 2.6Ah NiMHs for the same price as OEM 12 volt 2Ah NiCds. They worked well. came from a place called Excel based near Preston. they appear to have half a dozen trading names

i bought some 18v nimh batteries when my nicd set went for a milwaukee drill. They lasted just about a year before playing up, if you can afford it buy genuine every time.
I dont think the repro batteries are that cheap anyway.

WARNING Think very carefully indeed before buying any items from this company. Despite their proclamations of good customer service my experience is of the exact opposite. After telling me on the actual day that my delivery would be made, delivery was not made. This resulted in the customary wait at the window for a whole day for a delivery which did not arrive. That was bad enough. However, salt was rubbed into the wound when they told me that their carrier had "access problems". Sleep Solutions steadfastly failed to tell me what these mysterious access problems were and have totally ignored four e-mails which I sent to them. A cursory glance at their website will reveal a good number of other dissatisfied customers. Any company which chooses simply to ignore e-mails, in my opinion, deserves no custom. As I said, think very carefully before dealing with this company!

WTF has that got to do with batteries?

He's not posted for two years so my guess is that his account has been hacked and is being used by some weird spam merchant.
Otherwise, it's a very odd thread and topic to suddenly leap in with after two years...
