I am fitting some bamboo flooring the instructions call for cork strips to be fitted into the expansion gaps
Are these cork strips absolutely nessarsary

It looks better than having a bead covering an expansion gap.

Bamboo is pretty stable, but there's still a need to follow the makes guidelines.

You can refit the skirting over the new floor, bead or use cork. Done well cork looks fine.

Hi,
Thanks for your advice
Can you tell if it makes any difference what side I start with is it the Tongue or the Groove facing the wall

I normally have the tongue side facing the wall, and also on the first row, i trim the tongue off.

We would start with the groove facing the wall, which makes glueing the next row easier (you glue into the groove of the board you install next)
