Hi.the company I work for has been told we have to fit sure stop valves to all properties we work in.(social housing).has anyone had any problems with install? We have a variety of pipe work at secondary stopcock,plastic,lead,15 & 22 mm, imperial. I can see it being a right ball-ache,but the manager of housing firm has ordered over 100 speed fit 15 mm valves an wants them used in empty properties first then all properties.is/has there been any issue with these? Apart from crawling under base units to get at pipe work!

Are you talking about the stop cock or the water switch?

The stop cock has been tested and approved by WRAS (must count for something), but has only been available for about a year or so. Perhaps too soon for a verdict. None returned to us as a distributor as faulty.

The water switch has been available for some years. I can only recall one 22mm being returned as faulty.

I'm currently trying to get our landlord to fit them in properties normally housing elderly/disabled tenants.

It is the switch with the 2m tubes, connecting onto 15mm body.yes I agree of install to elderly/disabled tenants.

The remote "switch" is available with the water switch and the WRAS approved stopcock.

they dont always turn off, but they turn off better if the water is running as you switch it off. They always switch off to some extent though which i guess is the idea in an emergency but they are unreliable in assisting with maintenance
