The Court Proceedings were to determine as to whether the cost of the original work justified the standard of the price stated at the time and that would have been what should have been reimbursed (Plus Legal Costs)

I do not believe the Court would have accepted that the work would cost Double the original price, that would mean the claimant is making a profit out of legal proceedings.
Something is not quite right IMO

You got it 'spot on'.
the district judges are as sharp as razors-- despite what some of the leagal experts  on here may think.

The judges do what they are trained to do-- they can sniff out bullshirt in a skinny minute. That is what they get paid for .
All the 'would be' legal eagles on here - wouldn't stand a chance before a judge . The judge would have already made his mind up- after sifting through the crap that was put in front of him 30 mins before the hearing ( yes-- that is what happens-- they do not see the facts until 30 mins before people enter court ).
District judges hate lawyers and smart azzed solicitors-- for sure ..

Let the Op rest. He will be worn out now .
Just needs a bit of time to 'come down' .

Skimmed it??? I'd have built a new fookin wall.

I have yet to see a 'so called' plumber do brick/blockwork to any sort of standard.
I doubt very much that you sooey could put a few LEGO blocks together correctly.
All talk and no flux !!

As usual totally missed the point.
For £2,800 I'd have hired a couple of tradesmen to build and plaster the wall and a brush meister like yourself to clean up after them and go for the sarnies. And I'd have been quids in for doing eff all, that's business.
You wouldn't understand.

£750 for an easy weeks labour - she provided the materials. Add another £400 and I'd have skimmed all the walls.

£2800? FFS
