have uneven floorboards underneath and causing slight movement when walking from the hallway into the main living area, I have placed down this transitional laminate flooring strip - it came lose because of the movement, so I decided to pilot three holes, not realising the middle hole I had lined up perfectly with a GAP! doh

looking for advice how to try to pin this strip down as tight as possible, I have tried jamming a rawplug in there for now, it seems to be holding it but I know this will just be temporary as it will probably come loose again soon.

I've also put a plastic washer on to try to pull it downward better, but I do not think this is such a great idea after-all as walking past this if you catch it with your foot it just causes problems.

anyone any ideas? would really appreciate any ideas to solve this without too much work :)

foxhole you are a total genius, thank you so much - it's amazing how looking at a problem from another perspective can sort the trick!

thanks for lending your expertise !

I know, if I wasn't so modest I would be perfect.

HAH! :)

Still yet to implement your advice ;)

The silicone method I don't think would work here, the floorboards are slightly moving underneath - not much but enough to loosen the silicone and for it to wiggle about a bit, the cavity wall fixing plug did the job so far, holding pretty solid and strong, nothing moving at all in that area so far so good.

just hope it does not start to loosen over time.
