Placing MR directly on top of Paramount boards?

Hi...

Just bought a house that has Paramount Boards in all of the internal walls (none of them are load-bearing) and because of hidden issues we're redoing all of the bathrooms in the house.

Can we put MR boards directly on top of the Paramount Boards or do we need to remove them and start from scratch?

We're hoping to avoid removing the Paramount Boards, of course, as their removal means repairing the walls in the joining rooms, too, as well as losing a lot of floor space with properly studded walls.
