Hi, I have installed new plasterboard ceiling with resilient bars and also finished plastering with Multi Finish. New plaster is smooth and nicely done by a professional last Saturday. He used scrim tape along the joists. Though, in some areas there is slight difference in colour on the plaster, like lines under the joints of the plasterboard, especially in a place where there was 3mm step between the joists (there was a metal beam so could not perfectly level the plasterboard at that place).

Do these lines appear only due to the difference in drying time of plaster along the plasterboard joists or it is an indication that a crack will appear later on?

Will it be wise to apply scrim tape again along the joists below the new plaster before decorating the ceiling?

Its a difference in drying times, It wouldn't really say if a crack would appear or not, thats more to do with how much movement there are on the boards along joins and how solid the structure they are attached to and if theres alot of foot traffic above on a really bouncy floor, that kinds of things.

Today looks much better but in one place has appeared a small superficial crack on the plaster, just below the worst plasterboard joint. The plasterer has already used scrim tape before plastering. Shall I also use some scrim tape and filler before priming and painting, similar to when you repair ceiling cracks?

It may fill with paint and be ok, try that first. Your plasterer should come back and rectify if it doesnt.
