I've going to re skim some of the walls in my house, once done I will give them a mist coat using leyland contract matt.

Once the mist coat is dry what should I use to paint over the mist coat is it ok to use vynl matt or should I get dulux flat matt? I've read vynl matt is easier to clean but if its not going to adhere properly then obviously I will use flat matt.

Make sure the skim is dry prior to applying your mist, then when your mist coat has dried you would be fine to apply the vinyl matt thin your matt according to the instructions on the container, as a general rule of thumb around 10%.

I know, HI JACK
The title of this tread is not what was being asked.
How long does my mist coat require before I can put a coat of paint on?, is touch dry enough?
That's what I want to know.

Did you follow the instructions on the tin and use the paint you are top coating with as a mist coat? If so, you will get a better finish by simply going over it a couple of times with your mist coat thinned mixture. Full strength paint will give you awful roller stipple. I never apply any paint without thinning it a bit.

Yes used the same paint, have just brushed some on as its only small patches that were re-plastered, will use roller tomorrow, on whole ceiling.
