Should i be worried about this plant growing through my wall? This is at the back of my house, kitchen wall, about two bricks up from floor. Take a look at the pic! Any comments advice welcome! Will this cause me problems?

It appears that your DPC has been bridged by the paving.
Are your walls solid or cavity?

Carefully examine the interior wall and skirtings of that position.
Perhaps, check your property at DPC level for damp and rot signs, and high ground levels?

I've seen such weeds grow from the poor pointing ie. its only an external difficulty.
But, i've also seen weeds "inside" a wall pushing out brickwork - if thats the case, then after the above inspections, it might be worthwhile removing a couple of bricks where the plant comes out to see whats happening.

I certainly recommend NOT spending a few hours chopping bricks out and making good on the strength of a dandelion seed blown into a crack in a joint

Woody, that's poor advice. You should know by experience that dandelions can cause havoc with brickwork. I've seen many a house collapse without warning because of these little blighters

Stuart, the "dandelion" is Ivy and possibly Japanese knotweed. If you have not already cleared it, treat it urgent with strong weed killer

???

Japanese knotweed has shovel shaped leaves and the stem is bamboo like in appearance (i.e. with 'ridges') - this looks like a dandelion, nothing like ivy?

 :p

It's not even a dandelion. Dandelions don't have stalks like that with the leaves coming off them. It's actually a Smooth Sow Thistle. ;)
