Hi Peoples,

This is my first ever post and I need your help!

I am installing tommorow, a couple of angled batten holder in our garage, to light up the chest freezer we have in there.

But they have knockouts at the base, and I was wondering what is the best way of removing them, and any specific tools that are required?

By the way, I am able to install them safely and correctly.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Murphy :)

Old flat headed screwdriver will sort out the knockouts, a hammer is unlikely to be needed, but a pair of pliers to pull the knockouts off maybe!
If you want a neat finish 20mm holesaw, makes a nice job of it.

Yet you do not know how to knock out the knock outs?
Very reassuring.

Side cutters or pliers, tweak and done. No screwdriver and hammer for me. I like to take the minimum of tools with me around a room when second fixing. A hammer? That's not a second fix tool!

Incidently - That make of batten/pendent has a knockout already removed, but can be enlarged. It is normally fine for a few cables as it is. Other makes have a bakalite base, not a plastic one. These just need a good tap with a pair of closed side cutters on a firm base (your steps).
