there must be some one cheaper

I'm with Gladiator insurance.Renewal was 100 quid cheaper than last year!

It;s what your vehicle is used/claimed to be used for.

To insure a campervan is cheaper but must contain certain things, fixed bed, sink with trappings and supply and cooker.Pretty basic for cheaper insurance me thinks.
My friend insures his van as a horse box, very cheap ins.

I was with Gladiator for a few years, but Budget Ins have been cheaper for me this year and last.

Every year, I put my details into a couple of the big comparison sites for vans. This year, some other ins. co. came up cheaper, so phoned Budget to see if they could match as I had been with them for a year.

Bizarrely, Budget said that I could have another year's TPFT ins for the same price as the cheaper co (£270), or have comp instead for 40 quid less. So they matched the TPFT price, and also offered me a higher level of cover for less. I checked that there weren't any strings, and took them up on the comp.

It pays to do the comparison sites every year, as prices change constantly and ins cos. quote low to get your new business, hoping you will be too lazy to change in future. Then they bump up the premiums. You've got to keep checking and changing cos. if necessary.

nice one your dead right ithink your right about people just dont bother every time your premiums due tell em youve had a cheaper quote and somehow theyll beat it

Yes, anyone who just renews every year is throwing money away. The comparison sites do the legwork for you, but I always do 2 or 3 different sites as they can all differ.

Wouldn't be unusual to save £50 for 20 mins on the computer.

Also, opting to have an excess can bring the premium down a bit more.

That's expensive.
I insured my 05 combo last year with 0 no claims (always had company van before) and was around 500 fully comp and was 29/30 years old, driving since 18 years old.
Renewed it couple of months ago for around 350 with the one year no claims.

That. Was with gladiator who are the commercial partner of admiral I believe.

I assume you did a comparison? Do you live in high vehicle crime area?
Maybe other factors are making it high, ie, how long you been driving, any accidents before the no claims etc.
