linking hot return in to cylinder

Hey if you want to add a hot return on to a cylinder with no tapping/connection for it. Can it be tee'd in to the cold feed with a check valve?

Better to fit an Essex flange.

is if wanting to add a hot return to and unvented hot water cylinder, so an Essex flange isn't an option.

If it is unvented then you can't use an extra NRV, but if you were qualified to work on these then you would already know that.
