Hi,
We have just purchased a 1960s semi where the soil pipe runs down from the bathroom and down the kitchen wall into the ground. It was hidden behind a false back in a cupboard. The strange thing is that the pipe goes into the wall near the ceiling. I think it then carries on up through the bathroom in the wall. In the loft it emerges from the wall and is vented through the roof.
So it looks like on the first floor it is inside the wall as there is no sign of it in the bathroom. I am wondering if it can be chased into the wall in the kitchen to emerge just before the ground. It would come out of the ground then straight into the wall.
The reason for all of this is that we are having a new kitchen fitted and the pipe runs down the wall where we hope to have a tall cupboard. Its not a huge kitchen so I'm not keen on boxing in the soil pipe as it would reduce the width.
I can post pics if that helps.
All advice most welcome!
Thanks
Alan
