Washing machine will not spin/drain

I do understand that I may not get help for this being as I am in the US, however, I must stil ask... I have a Kenmore 60 series washing machine model# 110.92060110. according to what I can fine it was made by whirlpool. I have checked the hoses, they are not kinked, I have checked all connectors to the cycle selection knob, all is good, I have current going to everything. I am at a loss, if no one here can help, that is fine, I understand that things are different between the UK and the US. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.

You are correct. Most Sears Kenmore washers and dryers are made for Sears by Whirlpool. In Canada, Whirlpool is sold under the name Inglis.

As with all washing machines, if they don't empty the water they won't spin. As your machine isn't emptying I'd suspect a blockage in the filter and/or pump. If the hoses and pump are clear then it's down to basic fault finding, the pump may be faulty or the wiring broken.



Unplug your appliance before working on it.

I wanted to take the time to thank all of you who replied with the good suggestions. I pulled the lid sensor (the one that lets the machine know that the lid is closed) and it was indeed the problem. Seems it had shorted out. I replaced it with another one, it only cost me $24.00 US. Not bad. The machine works like new again. Hopefully this might help someone in the future. I was clued in to the sensor by the fact that it did not click when the lid shut. Thanks again to all who tried to help, it was appreciated!
