Keston C55 Experienced Service Engineer Required SW London

The installer was definitely a cowboy. He did a variety of work as part of a bigger domestic refurb contract, never turned up when promised and much of his work needed remedial attention after he'd gone.

To be fair, his selection of the Keston C55 for this job was probably an honest mistake. The design problems you cite were not so obvious at the time, and the unit lends itself to installation in awkward spots (which this is).

Like you suggest, Keston denied any responsibility. Also they denied the existence of sale of goods legislation, which gives a consumer a period of up to 7 years to obtain redress. The threat of legal action did however get me one £500 repair gratis from them.

I'm worried British Gas would break something. Also that their standard contract doesn't cover boilers older than about 5 years. I have a few other numbers to try and may end up resorting to them.

Cheers

The BG people will probably refute that they officially refuse to cover boilers over a certain age.

They are likely to confirm that they cover any boiler for which they keep spares.

But the cynical might say that they can decide when they cease stocking the spares. But its usually only when the manufacturer's have run out of "some" parts.
