DIYNOT app?

The app is indeed on the way, it isn't quite as simple as you suggest (sadly). The app you mention doesn't have a version compatible for this forum software without much tinkering. It's the tinkering that takes the time ;)

Cheers Admin.

The standard site is crippling on data bandwidth. Not too bad at home, but when on the mobile it is too much.

Doesn't scale well either I'm afraid.

Look forward to the release next week then? :p

BUMP.

2 months running now I've hit my bandwidth limit since I've been checking in during the day.

Don't why this site is so data heavy, but it IS this site. The ads certainly don't help.

Surely there is a way of reducing these overheads?

Then stop checking in during the day. Simples.

Stop thinking that a phone is an appropriate device for interacting with the forum. Simples.

If I had a phone I would certainly not use this site, imagine how many others are using it less too....

If this site wants to generate more visits then surely it needs to be accessible on all platforms and devices....

Now that is simples!!!

I'm afraid not :(
Come on you prize Muppets, the world is a changing place so get with it and make a freakin app already. And make sure you do the Android one first, don't mess about with that crappy fruit one, that'll phase out like Betamax did. Jeez getting blood out of a stone is easier than getting something back from DIYnot, we make your site what it is so pull your fingers out and damn well stop talking about it and do it. People on this site have undoubtedly collectively given away tens of millions of pounds worth of free advice, so dip into your pockets for a change.

To confirm, the stone is being squeezed and it looks like bleeding is imminent. Furthermore there will be a mobile version (in fact it already exists, just requires some further tweaking for existing images etc) and it is much more convenient to browse/post using mobile devices than the current offering should you so wish.
