Hi, after some insulation and joinery advice for home study improvements for the winter. DIY project on a small budget.

Have an extended internal garage which has a partition wall built flush to the RSJ which was originally the external house wall. No formal PP previously applied for as it is only intended as temporary use.

Q1 - external wall of study is single skin brick and cooler to touch than other walls as they are effectively internal. What cheap options to add internal insulation to brickwork below window ? (foil backed plasterboard dot-dabbed straight onto wall ??)
Plan to mount electric panel heater on this wall - not heated all the time, only when in use.
Door panel will be replaced with no cat flap & door draught proofed.

Q2 - wall to next door on LHS has 3 x ventilation gaps (1 brick width) - the is a cavity between this wall and next door wall. Am I ok covering these with suitable flush vent cover or similar ? View media item 67821
Q3 - desk shown on back wall is currently a kitchen worktop cut to size full width supported by batons. Have sourced some thick wood 300mm deep that I plan to use for a shelf above the desk, and to fit before the kitchen worktop to effectively give a 900mm deep desk.
Also have a 600mm offcut that plan to use for Lshape on LHS.
What should I use to support the two full width surfaces ?
Was thinking large shelf brackets screwed onto support battons underneath joined to both work surfaces.
Same for joining the Lshape worktop.
End of L-shape would be simple wood batton square frame with plasterboard finish.
Q4 - plan to insulate existing stud wall to garage, then cover with plasterboard other side. Have some spare rolls of loft insulation. Would that be OK fitted between noggins etc. then plasterboard on top ? Or use something different.
Q5 - concrete floor. Currently just have decent underlay, then carpet which seems fine. Any other suggestion to improve ?
Finish does not have to be as high as in main house - this is occasional use study with only access external to main house. Panel / board gaps will be caulked or similar & all painted white.
