Rememeber that time when you polished your Dad's car and left chalky white marks all over the matt back trim, which never came off? It's the chalky polishing compound lodging in the suface texture. I've only gone and done it on my matt charcoal grey bike frame..... grrrr.
You could buy a "back to black" restoring gel, which was just a glycerine gel that wetted the surface and made it dark and shiny but that didn't remove the polishing compound.
What solvent will remove it? I've tried kerosine and IPA, no luck.
