cooker / oven electric ignitor not working

Hi all
The ignitor button isn't working on my oven cooker
Any ideas how to fix it? Don't fancy sticking a lighted match in there with the gas on! The gas does come on when I twist the oven has Mark knob.

Its a zanussi, I've attached a pic

Can you hear the familiar clicking noise?

Also, are you talking about the hob not igniting, the oven not igniting or both?

No clicking noise at all

And neither ignite

It's battery operated "AA" type located at the front just under the main oven door
