I've got what has been described as a 1970'sstype incoming black plastic pipe that has a stop tap attached that has a 15mm connection, I need to increase this size to 22mm but I have two problems:

I can't locate the road side valve to close my supply - Thames water are coming to help with this

What kind of stop tap do I need to change it on this pipe? Will a normal 22/22 with compression fittings work?

If you are on an old terraced street possibly end of street. You will be turning off half the houses.

I'm quite rural, there's no sign of anything on the pavement, and that've used a metal detector to try and locate the stop tap. My main query reallyishow do I get my internal tap up to 22mm

coopersim a photo might help in this case and make thing easier to suggest solutions for the new tap

Thanks for the replies, would prefer to stop it off at the road really if possible

You definitely need to find the external stopcock for that ,I would never try and squeeze Alkathene

Use an adaptor available from good plumbing shop to change it to 22mm copper and put the newstock in
