In my time such fittings would be prefixed by words like Yorkshire Etc as the codes were frequently cribbed from one manufacturer.

Fully pumped systems would use the cu68 (1" union nut/22mm tail) gravity systems that require 28mm would use the 1"x 28mm female to copper.

I had not heard of a CU68 in my time and reckoned Steelmasons either cribbed it off some-one who made a mistake and didn't know what he was talking about or it was a fitting I genuinely didn't know about. I was intent on finding out which!

this is exactly what I am trying to understand
You can buy these fittings like their going out of fashion but to find the correct washer to do the job correctly seems to be a struggle. I am by no means a plumber but can get by just about, however my plumbing terminology can come across vague and even plumb centre couldn't understand what I wanted LOL.

CU stands for copper , whether you prefer endex/Yorkshire etc then use the correct numbers , as I said it's referred too as a xx68.
Endex N68 would be 22mm x 1" or 15mm x 3/4".
The correct fitting to use would be the 'CU68' , not difficult at all.
Not sure what you mean by the underlined text in the quote. N68/YP68 is a cone shaped joint.

I knew what you was on about, just always used the 69 and not the 68.
CU was always the Yorkshire prefix prior to the introduction of lead-free solder to their fittings around 30 years ago (prefixes were then YP for Yorkshire Potable, YL for Yorkshire Leaded), N the Endex prefix.CU stands for copper , whether you prefer endex/Yorkshire etc then use the correct numbers , as I said it's referred too as a xx68.

Does 5 years with a plumbing company then 25 years with an international company dealing with M&E contractors not count? I ended up in management of contracts for all trades.
I now work for myself so it is interesting to learn of fittings I have never heard of and CU68 is one of them.
You on the other hand have so far failed to provide a single supplier for "CU68" that can be verified online. - I have been checking those you listed.
