Council leaders don't live on this planet. It doesn't matter how expensive, how unsightly, how ridiculous. As long as they can tick another box or two, anything goes.

It wouldn't surprise me if this escapade has obtained for them some sort of EU handout.
 
So she campaigned for the ramp - she's got it installed for free, it makes her life easier and now she whinges about it.

Don't tell me they just turned up one afternoon and installed it without telling her.

Perhaps she'd prefer a straight one in four straight ramp to the front door?

A member of my close family has a severe disability and just trying to get the smallest bit of help is a major battle.

Yes i got to admit it does look stupid but you telling me she didn't know what they were measuring up for, do you think they told her one thing then just turned up with this and said 'sorry love this is the only one they do' yeah right i'm sure there was plenty of visits made by people in white hats and hi-viz stomping all over her front garden so you'd of thought she had ample time to query what they were actually measuring up for.

Why not dig out those steps reducing the slope and one of these at the back/side door?

because that wouldve taken someone with a bit of common sense.
why spend 2k when you can spend 5k on an eyesore and then stand up and say 'HAVNT WE DONE WELL'.

I think turns 1 and 2 are ok, but as soon as you are through turn 3, this is where you need your whits about you.

As you pick up speed through 4 and 5, this is where the best will be looking to pick up time on their lesser rivals.

As You round 6 and 7 you will be looking for that fast finish.

At turn 8, I would be flat out.
