thanks

thought it would be a case.

the metal works really well, just need a bit longer as that diverts the heat away

Could I not get a welder to make something up to go over the flu and up?

Are you serious? Or is your username a typo?

Either move the door, or move the boiler. There is nothing you can do to the flue to make that safe.

Yeah serious,

That flu has been there for years and never a problem, previously there was a wood door but since the pvc got put realise the issue! Was too late then - but if a DOH moment.

Unfortunately cant move door so may need to replace boiler which is a shame as it works brilliant, an old potterton - seems a shame to replace a boiler when it doesnt have to be done.

You'd be hard pressed to find a new replacement as reliable as that ole profile/prima.

Sully the comments are not out of concern for the door, but more for your and the other households safety.

Apart from the heat hazard to the door the boiler will be re-circulating its own flue products...ie. burning the gas with insufficient oxygen. This can result is massive carbon monoxide production and with the flue near perhaps an open door could be extremely dangerous. So, although the boiler may appear to function ok from a users point of view it could be very unsafe.

What does your service engineer say about the flue terminal position?

Being at the height it is, it looks like it should have a guard over it.

Fit a guard over it, then breath in when your going through the door!
