Electric fire no Heat

Hi,

We have a Electric fire that has suddenly stopped heating and we would like to replace the Elements but we can't find a replacement anywhere

The fire is a year or two old and is no longer sold I believe. It is a Carolina Wall Hung Electric Fire bought from B&Q I think ( it was already on the wall when we bought the House )

Any ideas? We are on the verge of buying a new fire for ££££

Looks like the brand (Blyss) is a B&Q inhouse brand so might be worth contacting B&Q CS for the spec for the element as there are plenty of online places that sell branded and universal elements if you know what you need.

Are you sure that the element is faulty?, is there a reset built into the fire in the event of overheating, does the thermostat operate correctly?.
If the element is faulty, try getting the manufacturer to replace, i would expect element to last longer than 1-2 years(normal usage).

Yep correct, Blyss is the make too. We are going B&Q tomorrow to see.

Not 100% it's the Element to be honest it's just a punt and replacing would hopefully fix it at little cost.

I don't see a reset switch anywhere unless it's tucked away hidden.

It looks like the left hand supports for the element jave either come loose or are damaged. That would need to be rectified first.

At the bottom there appears to be a thermostat of sorts. If you look at this closely can you see a small bi-metal contact with two little pips touching? If they are not touching this is probably the fault.

I did that taking it out

although in my defence I was going to replace it anyhow but never thought you couldn't get them easily enough.

I am not sure on the Thermostat to be honest.

We are taking the whole Element with us to B&Q tomorrow but I have a feeling they will be unable to help with a part.

I'd be surprised if you get anywhere instore but you never know. If not, I would be calling the CS number on the website and asking them and if they can't help pushing to be put through to the Buying Office where the manufacturer contacts are held.
