I have an enclosed shower cabin that I am thinking is leaking through the waste pipe. It has ruined the ceiling below so I am calling it in as an insurance claim. The thing is how to get the leak sorted the plumbing firm looked at it but said the show unit would have to be taken apart and put together again to sort the leak and they won't do it. It's going over another persons work we don't do that. What can I do now?

I have found what the problem is the waste unit under the shower has a little pipe on it the water is coming out of that. How do I cap that?

Can you post a pic so we can see what waste you have? If the ceiling is ruined, are you able to carry out any work from downstairs rather than removing the shower?

Problem discovered I will be sorting it out. Two qualified plumbers wouldn't look at the shower unit, just told me to put a traditional shower in. Emailed the company about taking the shower to pieces they said just move it would be safer so I did and found the simple problem that shows that it was an installation fault and had obviously leaked from the moment it was first used. The fault the water waste pipe from the steam generator to the waste pipe was not put in. I have one being delivered and will fit it as instructed by manufacturers. So much for plumbers!!

Not all plumbers though. I certainly would have repaired it for you. Sounds like you had a couple of wooses.
