Hi, got a small problem with noise transfer from the boilers pump to ceiling.
I have put in my own heating in a bungalow with the boiler & tanks in the loft & pipes dropping down to the rads all done in plastic except for the last 2 meters to the boiler which is in copper. (All is working well)
The problem is when the bungalow is quite you can hear the pump noise through the ceiling joists where the pipes are clipped down. I am assuming & quite sure this is where the copper pipes are clipped down. These clips are really needed in this area so cant take them out.
So! i was wondering if any one makes a 22mm flexible hose/pipe that could be put in on the flow & return so close to the boiler to hopefully stop some of the noise transfer from the pump.

Cheers

You can get rubber pump mounting brackets. I found a picture here, this sort of thing.

I used to use them all the time for pump fixing but now with so many pumps being in the appliance they may be harder to find locally.

They may well help to reduce noise transfer to the building structure.

They are for use either side of the pump but I guess they would be ok on the slightly hotter pipes from the boiler (the reason I understand for using copper for the first section) a long as you have a bit of distance between the boiler and clip

Otherwise how about trying to fit a couple of rubber (pencil maybe) blocks between the plastic clip and the joist?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately its a Glowworm sxi30 boiler with a built in pump that couldn't even be removed & mounted remotely.
But you opened up other idea's with those clips.

Hi just edited as you posted.

That might be an idea. I was trying to avoid touching the pipes in the area where they are fixed as its sods law its where all 3 MV's are & where pipes go though beams & alike, so would have problems even raising the pipes a few milometers, but can cut into the flow & return.
