I've got Texecom Elite 24 with IP Com installed by alarm company.
Panel is accessible via WAN and LAN from android texecom apps.

Is it possible to set it up so that it sends me email if alarm activated and to do it without calling out alarm installers again?

Have static WAN IP. IPcom is connected to a modem-router.

I don't think the COM-IP will send email by itself. It needs to communicate with a separate IP receiver like Montex. The receiver software will decode the SIA message and then output to a message queue.

I was looking at the possibility of supporting the COM-IP with the SelfMon platform, but there doesn't seem to be that much interest out there compared with the Galaxy solution.

One thing to note is that the security level of the COM-IP is not high, so don't bindly port forward from the net. Only VPN in to be safe.

Id say different, there must be 5 times more asking about Com-ip than there is asking about Galaxy on here.

The com-ip module has an email facility (lantronix sub menu) but no one you ask seems to know how to get it working.

if sending signals out via ip, you need something that can read the message.

Montex, texbase free to engineers can be downloaded free, but you need a pc (receiver) on all the time.

In theory I could set one up from here to email you when your alarm goes off, but what is my liability if theres a power cut, connection failure, or the pc is being updated and being rebooted and you get robbed and not notified, because my system was down.

There is a new texecom app out now which has option of getting email notifications but it says panel must be set up by engineer. I believe ipcom ill send messages to texecom server which in turn will send push emails to your register email address.
Seems my installer does not know what to change on the panel exactly - anyone tried this already by any chance?

pm me and we can sort this out remotely if you wish.

There is 2 parts.

1. configure the notification part in the app (will need the account number assigned, ideally do this within 4 hours of the engineer completing the rest(not essential but it will make it easier)).

2. Theres a few things to configure from the panel end takes a few minutes to configure and then test is working okay.
