Good choice, and whoever fits it will be pleased as its virtually a straight swap.

Is there anything wrong with your 105e? If not, why change it? Price depends on your individual situation and which area of the country you live in so it really needs a site visit from a GSR engineer

The old boiler is a bit noisier than it used to be but still works , I live in Durham my boiler guy is going to service it next month

If it's basically working there's absolutely no point in changing in - the cost of the swap will take many years to recover in gas savings, if it ever is recovered. If it ain't broke...

That's what my dad says lol. He also says old boilers are like old cars easier to fix (he's never fixed a boiler lol)

Is there any reason to go for a mk1 duotec over a mk2? One RGI I was speaking to says there have been quite a few reported problems with the mk2 and he would only fit a mk1. But aren't these older technology now and for how much longer will they be available?

Alternatively, I have another guy who is a Viesseman authorised installer. Are there any particular models of these to avoid?

Hi we fit LOTS of the old DuoTec they have 7 year warrantys and are fairly cheap. Fitting wise depends on condensate run and programmer upgrades maybe TRV's etc.

The new ones had gas valve issues when they first came out and also some software problems, think they have sussed it now though. Still would go with the tried and tested Mk1 LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
