Any ideas why a 3 year old Logic Combi 24 boiler trips the RCD when the central heating is selected. The hot water seams to be OK however when the heating is selected the RCD trips.

I have disconnected the programmer but it still trips I am looking at the pump any thoughts or previous experience?

Sorted this morning it was water getting into the diverter valve allowing water into the contacts then tripping the RCD
Thanks everyone for your comments

Pump is ok as you say hot water is ok.

When you run hot water, the boiler work okay, yes?

With the room stat in the off position, does the RCD trip when you switch on at the programmer? If not, turn the room stat up, see if it trip or not?

Roomstat won`t work with programmer disconnected. ;)

It all about fault finding. Beside how can it be tripped if you can't get the heating on without the programmer.

We will need to wait and see what the op say, he could have remove the programmer and bypass it to a room stat? ;)

RCD tripping mean there a live or neutral to earth fault. I would check external control first before checking the boiler.

Diverter valve spindle leaking into actuator head? Or external controls faulty.
