Exactly, it is no different to any other stat except for the internet gateway (as we Honeywelleers call it, which must add all of 45 seconds?

We were fitting full Evohome systems complete with multiple zones in under an hour.

Certainly sounds like this chump has just wired across the volt free terminals in the boiler.
 
With many many thanks to ManorTim for coming out and sorting it out tonight, the Nest is now installed. The previous installers were told not to return a 3rd time, Nest agreed to pay for any additional installation costs and my wife is happy again!

I think Tim was a little astounded at how they managed to make such a FU of it but suitable feedback on both parties will go back to Nest.

Could have saved all his hassle by getting a Honeywell Evohome system from a Honeywell trained installer. (like me or Dan ) ;)
