Hey should a tundish on an unvented cylinder not splash over at all when you test the pressure and temperature relief blow off on full flow.

is that splash a little or back up and overflow?

Most tun dishes supplied with UV cylinders seem to be injection moulded crappo plastic, and 'flow-through' leaves a little to be desired...

(why are you testing the temp/pressure relief?)

its not backing up its splashing over a fair bit when testing the pressure and temperature relief on full. I tested it to make sure it wasn't splashing over but it is.

In answer to your first post, No they 'should not' splash water out of the air gap, the t7p valve is set to let go at about 90-95 ° C... that is well hot, and you would not want to catch some spray at that temperature....

But, as installers we fit what the manufacturers supply.... good&bad.

I hope the T&P valve reseated itself 100%, as otherwise t requires a pro with the relevant G3 certificate to replace it.

Hi

It could be that limescale is partialy blocking the pipe at the base or below the tundish. All the water should go out no exception.

Why is it doing this then as its been installed right well over 300mm below tundish to first bed

I have yet to see a tundish that doesn't splash everywhere when you open the tprv fully!

Is the outlet pipe the correct size? The longer the distance the bigger the pipe size needs to be.

But as said previously they do tend to give a little splashback from them. So long as it doesnt back up and overflow then i wouldn't worry too much

Yes, this is normal.
A good careful plumber will bring a towel with him/her and place it underneath before testing the PR.
servotech,

Yeah you can run it in 22mm copper up to 9meters adding 0.8meters on for each bend. Its splashing over a lot when on full. This isn't great because of the position of the cylinder in the loft. It could do a fair bit of damage if was blowing off on full for say minutes.
