hi

this boiler is refusing to stay at the temp I set the water - it insists on blasting out hot water at 65degrees, I set it to 55 and confirm with tick.

any ideas why its doing this? its brand new in a newly built house

cheers

Quite surprised that vaillant would have been the installers choice of boiler given vaillants track record.

so you two not got any ideas?

on another note, love the fact that the rads in the house have hoses coming from them that appear to plug in to sockets on wall behind the rads to supply the hot water, and aimable bleed valves? amazing I just love these

Have you tested the temp at the tap or just going off what the boiler display says?

Have you set hot water temp as opposed to central heating temp?

These second generation ecotecs are not user friendly to say the least.

baz no I aint, but even when I set water to say 35 degrees its still red hot and boilers reading 65+ so just going of what boiler says, just don't get how if you set the water to a certain temp, the boiler reads that its sending out higher then what you've set it too

steel yes ive set water, water is on left hand side of the menu.

Check it at the outlet, boiler will read higher than whats coming out of the tap, it shows primary temp on boiler not hw outlet temp

cheers baz all makes sense now, guess that explains why when I did have hot water set to 65 (to test) it was reading on boiler at 75+ degrees (and no not confusing with heating)

ps ive never lived in new build before, how long has the system of plugging the rads into a outlet on the wall been out?

also cant find a solid wall anywhere, everywhere I knock I can hear hollow plasterboard sounds, I know there is brick behind the plasterboard somewhere, but looks like im gona have to change how I fit things to walls, I was used to drilling - plugs then screws, but am I gona have to look into different fixtures for these plasterboard walls?

New builds are shiit in my opinion thrown up, and yes you will have to fix things different, throw the drill away and buy plasterboard fixing just dont hang nothing on them or wall will fall down!

lol better tell the gf not to overload the kitchen cupboards as these are fitted to these plasterboard walls, so is the valliant lol
