Morning,

I did search, and found a post from 2009.. just wanted to check there's no doubt...

replacing my chicken wire fence with a close/feather board tomorrow, had always believed they had to have the nice side, was told last night that precedent is only goodwill...

not much goodwill here, so I can have the nice side?
only downside being their kids might use the horizontals to climb up...

You should only build on your side so if you have the nice side and they have the posts you'll lose 4" of garden.
 
ahh, good point. on the basis that they will be putting in 4" posts?
hmm, nice side or 4"... will have to ponder that one

^^^^ This. Having the fair side abutting the boundary on the neighbour's side securely encloses all your land.
