I've noticed some windows have no architrave at all and are just flush with the wall. I'll be plastering the rooms so will have the opportunity to do this, is there a method to it? it does look smart.

I'm assuming you get rid of the arch, then plasterboard around the ledge and skim with the wall? is that right? My worry is condensation as I don't think plasterboard is water friendly.

Any tips, advice would be great thanks

if you scroll right you will see the window.

that is a window which is flush with the outside of the wall. In some other districts or regions, especially central London after 1666, windows are placed flush with the inside surface of the wall.

What you call a ledge, I call a window-board. Some people incorrectly call it a sill.

Ah! Have you done plasterwork before, and in particular used corner beads?

First fit the wooden cill, then frame the window/wall with corner beads, set out enough to provide enough depth for your base and finishing coats, on both wall and ingos (ingoing slips) allow the plaster/adhesive to set and use these edges to float your plaster off to...pinenot :)

Thanks, yeah I'm doing alot of plastering with beads so no problem there. So I don't use plasterboard around the inside of the window? just skim onto the wood that's there?
