Can any one help with a shower problem?

We have a bathstore shower which is fed by a Worcester combi boiler.

My wife turned the temp knob from the ideal hot temp to cold for a few moments and when turned back to the ideal hot temp we are now only getting luke warm water even if you turn the temp knob all the way round to max hot!

I think it may have some kind of ceramic temp control behind the chrome panel. Any idea what the cause may be? Could it be scaled up?? If scaled would it be possible to pour a descaling fluid down the flexible shower hose in order to try and reach the ceramic thing or could it be something else? The shower is about 8-10 years old. Any advice appreciated. (all other hot water taps are piping hot).

Sounds like you have a failed thermostatic cartridge.
Spares available from shower doctor or valve manufacturer.

Thanks very much for the reply Jeff.

I have just checked the other hot taps in the same bathroom and they are hottish but not as they should be! The en-suite is fine as is the kitchen!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your shower is faulty and causing cold to mix with hot. What boiler do you have?

Doesn't sound like that then.
Are you Sure the taps in the shower room are cooler than the rest of the house? Leave them running and make sure.
