How long is it staying on for ?

Possibly circulation problem caused by knackered pump

If its only on for about 5 seconds then it is likely to be an ignition issue but we don't give DIY repair advice on gas/combustion issues here.

In that case you would need a competent gas reg engineer.

Hi again, Its a Baxi solo 2 It fires up and comes on fine. Its stays on for different periods of time at first. Could be on for a minute or two then its starts going out then ignighting and going out all the time. Pump is not broken and we had a new pcb fitted last year. Its an old model but reluctant to change the whole boiler as it fits snug in a cupboard. We do have a gas engineer but he is getting stumped!

Get him to sign up to the Combustion chamber where he will get more help on gas related issues

If its on for longer than 5 seconds then it is likely to be a water flow issue.

Part of the diagnosis is to measure the flow and return temperatures when the boiler is firing.

I suspect to solve the problem you may need to get a new boiler engineer!

Sometimes they can be in short supply!
