Mild Steel (Carbon steel) Table

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to build a one off table but i want to get the base built of mild steel. (2 rectangle legs, 2 cross bars and then a centerpiece that is similar to the legs.)

Im not planning to do it myself and would like to hire an independent person or company to do it for me like an ironmonger or fabricator.

I don't know where to start, and all my google searches come up with the most random things.

If you know someone or a business either in london or in east midlands who can do this please pass me their details - or if you could do it then drop me a line.

I know of one firm locally (not the one below)

I have one near us, i just worry that a london blacksmith will have london prices
 
Always a worry that but c'est la vie...

Try shopping around and get a few quotes. Some of the smaller blacksmiths are pleased to get the business.

After all, what you want isn't that complex.
 
Your local garage/bodyshop/bike shop will probably do welding. If they can't provide the stock, you should be able to find an engineering supplies firm on line or in the yellow pages. Then look for powder coaters to give the frame a really professional finish...
 
Search for 'steel fabricator' or 'metal fabricator' plus the county you want to find them in. There are loads of small independents out there that can do this. East midlands will get you much better prices than London I suspect.
