ACT 10 digital keypad Info please

Just been given 2 ACT10 digital keypads,I'm doing an install on my side gate where I have a mag lock securing it, I have a backed up 13volt power supply and the wiring diagram, the difference is that I want to install a keypad both sides of the gate and not a push to exit,can I have help in how the wiring goes, another thing I have noticed is that the key pad had connections for tamper and contacts I have no need for these do I just leave or link out ?

Wire keypads in daisy chain.
Supply 0V DC to first keypad NC terminal and link C terminal to second keypad NC and link this keypad C terminal to maglock. Supply 12V DC directly from PSU to another maglock input. Activation of any keypad must brake 12V supply chain to maglock.

Ignore tamper and any other terminals on ACT10 apart of 12-24 AC/DC and NC and C

How important is the varistor? I understand its so that you don't get an inductive load on the mag lock

It doesn't require for maglock

Can visualize connections below. If you still unsure how to wire it up, I would advice to contact local installer.

AC/DC neg ------> NC | C ------> NC | C -------> maglock
12V --------------------------------------------------> maglock
 
I was delving into getting some Bewator keypads but a little pricey I have been offered these for £25 each, I just don't want to get the wiring wrong and Fxxk them up
 
The act10 are as good as the bewator fitted loads and none have ever failed ! And you don't have the issue of the the keys ( expensive to replace )
 
On the drawing do I still put 12 volts + & - in the 2 top right connections or are they now taken out of the equation ? I suspect they are for the actual keypad control.

As I mentioned above you need to use 12-24 AC/DC + and - . This is to supply power for keypads itself.

Depends on the maglock as to whether the varistor is required. ACT supply them with new units so does no harm fitting them.

Also. Good practice to switch the 12v feed to the lock, not the 0v.

This is the usual requirement for compliance with local fire regs/requirements.
 
I have a power supply backed up with a battery 13.8volt it will be approx 15 metres away from the mag lock just wondering about the cable I should use between the transformer and lock and the size and possible volt drop I have worked out that 1.5mm would do but need confirmation of this
 
I have purchased an Act10 keypad along with a mag lock which I inter on installing to my grandmothers front door to make access easier for the family and emergency services when needed. I have wired the lock up as per the wiring diagram in the manual, although the mag lock energises when I input the code or press the exit button. Having read a lot online, I have to connect the + wire from the mag lock to the N/C terminal as opposed to N/O. I have done this, but, the mag lock stays closed permanently and doesn't de-energise even when I input the code or press the exit button. Ive been trying/playing with the connections now for the past 6+ hours and still cannot get it to work properly. I AM BEGGING for someone to help me, Google searching just keeps leading me to the same info manuals. There mist be something I am doing wrong either with the wiring or the actual programming of the unit?
