There was an incident on a bus in the Hackney Road, close to Columbia Rd about 2 weeks after 7/7.
A small explosion did occur, possibly only part of the bomb detonated leaving a large amount of explosive in an unstable condition. At that point police would be clearing people out of the possible blast area to reduce casualties should the rest of the payload detonate.

The reason the bomb did not fully detonate was the explosive had been made at the same time as that used in the 7/7 bombs and had decayed in the two weeks between being made and being used.
