A downlighter converter kit will fit almost any size hole. NOT SURE HOW MUCH HEIGHT NEEDED IN CEILING VOID THOUGH. DID LOOK FOR A BIT, YOU CAN DO THE REST. ALSO NOT FIRE RATED.

I'll leave it to you then.

I'm so annoyed right now.
Just cut out the holes for the kitchen downlights. Only one is unobstructed.
Why is that a joiner cockup?

If you've recently had building work done, did you tell them where to put joists etc? Bear in mind that these are usually spaced per structural requirements rather than lighting - is the problem really that you didn't think about where lights could be before deciding where they would be?

Also, what's above the ceiling?

There are some LED lamps

which are only 35 mm thick but finding UK supplier is something else.

Cheers folks.

Joiner cockup as in he was told to leave at least 130mm between new ceiling and the joists of the bathroom above.
This is now 90mm at worst point.

Not all "Joiners" are created equally...lol

He wasn't on the job long. The replacement joiners have been bang on.

Lesson learnt make sure he's a Joiner NOT a handyman..

I'll check out the suggestions

Cheers guys.

Can anyone clarify whether or not Fire rated downlights are actually needed.

The lights are needed in the Kitchen. Above the kitchen is only a bathroom

I have attached a pic of a floorplan that is very similar.

2 sparkies have told me I don't need them but they do commercial work
Google isn't helping

Thanks
Matt
