Well, I have been trying to get mothballs all day today - and can't get any anywhere. I have been told that they've not been available for 3 or 4 years due to some European law coming over decreeing that there is something in them that makes them harmful to moths!!!!!!!
Ah well, I don't want to kill them/it, so will have to think - unless anyone out there can tell me how to get hold of mothballs??!!
Hmmmmmm, I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm going to have to learn to live with the little blighter!

Somebody I knew used to be good at driving moles away. His method was to find a run and carefully push a bamboo cane through the soil until he could feel the end break into the mole's tunnel. Then dribble in a few spoonsful of old engine oil and cover it up. Moles have a very sensitive smell, so when they get a whiff they clear off and play somewhere else. Can't remember what the chap's name was.

inspect the trap everyday, if caught, take said mole a long way away (couple of miles) and release.
Have a go at trapping, there are humane traps available...... just remember to dig the trap well into the tunnel, wear gloves, otherwise it'll smell you, then cover the trap up well, so as not to freeze the poor blighter in case of cold weather
