Monobloc flexible tap tails??

OP, when you say you tightened everything up, do you mean with a spanner? The tails should be hand tight with maybe just a small nip up with a spanner but no more.

You have not used the wrong size tails because you would know instantly.

Are the tails twisting undone when you tighten the other end?

Is it possible to connect them temporarily under the sink so you can see where the leak is coming from.

Occasionally you get a tap which has not been manufactured correctly

All flexi's for mono blocs are sized at m10 or m12 so if it don't fit or leaks then you have used the wrong size, simple.

Rubbish M8, M10 & M12 are all standard monobloc thread sizes

Not possible to fit the wrong one - either they won't fit into the thread or they will fall out of it.

Yes your right, I totally forgot about 8mm. The op said he wrapped PTFE on the threads so it IS possible that he MIGHT have used a smaller size and thus the PTFE packed it out as it entered the tap.

No he didn't - other posters suggested he wrap PTFE on the tail as it was leaking. It takes a lot of turn of PTFE to pack from M10 to M12!

Newboy I think if you read what he said, then he said he used PTFE on both ends of the connection.

I wouldn't know how many turns of PTFE it takes to pack an M10 to a M12,It sounds like you speak from experience about having leaks on these and have found out the hard way about bodging with PTFE ;)

Last post from me as this is becoming tedious.

Read the OP post fully and in sequence - he wrapped both ends of the flexi AFTER he was advised to do following his first post not at time of original install.

polite note - please don't accuse me of bodging when you can't tell the difference between M10 & M12 and forget that other sizes exist!

It turns out it was nothing to do with flexi hoses or o-rings on the tails causing the leak. The ant rotation ring on the underside of the tap wasn't up it the job of keeping any water splashed on the sink top from leaking to the underside of the tap. I bought some plumbers mait and put a good dollop around the base of the tap before tightening it down into place. This has stopped the leak so job done
