rebar problem on footings i've just cast

that's the problem..' no seall ':LOL: ... and it rusts... expends.. cracks up the base.... wall... and I have to take it all down .

I can't sleep knowing what he's done!!!.... ;)

My advice. Never look at it again. It will be fine

OK.. I know you'll think I'm barking :LOL: but i dug a 6'' wide by 6-8'' deep trench at the side of the cast (at least 2-3'' into the clay... cleaned and brushed up all the concrete.. and cast a new piece onto it...

I know, I know... its 1/2 a day I didn't need to do and £15 in materials I didn't have to spend.... but it showed me 3 things...

1/ the rebar had not come out of the concrete :D
2/ where it is, is just about where the clay starts :rolleyes:
3/ after 4 days, how hard the footings are :D

or maybe 4 things... you lot were right :LOL:

but it makes me feal a whole lot better !!... and I'm happy again :cool:
